Note · Under the Australia–India ECTA (AI-ECTA), in force since 29 December 2022, Indian-origin cotton hospitality textiles — terry towels and linen (HS 6302), bathrobes (HS 6207/6208) and cotton floor mats (HS 5702) — enter Australia at 0% import duty, against an MFN 'general' rate of up to 5% for non-FTA origins. Duty-free entry requires meeting ECTA rules of origin and presenting a Certificate of Origin with each shipment. This is a real, in-force duty advantage — the Australian parallel to the UK's incoming CETA. Goods carry care labelling under the Consumer Goods (Care Labelling) Information Standard 2023, and consignments still clear DAFF biosecurity free of soil, seeds and plant matter.
